Purple and Silver Wedding Styled Photoshoot

The theme for this photo shoot for Southern Bride Magazine "Elegant Wedding in the City".  Some color choices I love to use when displaying elegance are purples and silvers.  Purple is a very regal color and can be used in softer tones against bolder tones for a varying look of soft elegance.  I started with stationery of creamy background papers and soft tones of lavender from Alan's Invitations.    Kelli and Daniel Taylor of Daniel Taylor Photography took all these beautiful images and made my vision come to life.

We displayed two invitation ideas including a more formal invitation tied with lavender ribbon and a more casual invitation framed in silver with a hint of lavender ink that might be used for a rehearsal dinner.

A more elegant and more formal look would be to stay with ecru papers with silver ink.  I like the way the silver ink softens the invitation opposed to black ink which gives a bolder appearance

This is our more casual look with Vietri china along with a stone look flatware all from Bromberg's in Mountain Brook Village in Birmingham Alabama.  Small additions to any tablescape could be the crystal salt and pepper shakers and tiny silver butter dishes.  I love to give each guest their own individual pieces of tablescape to step up the elegance one more notch.

A fun and interesting grouping of candles,  vessels and vases make a very pretty and more casual centerpiece for our tablescape created by J Ross Railey

A bouquet of lavender and purple, tied with a purple satin ribbin and a touch of "bling" with a brouche can be carried by a bride or bridesmaid wanting a pop of color

With the city in the background, this gorgeous bride's cake has the top two tiers designed with appliques, followed by the bottom two tiers of fondant ribbon and bow with a pearl brouche.  This beautiful cake was created by Jan O'Donnell of Cakes by Jan in Birmingham Alabama

I love this image of the tables scape with the wedding cake in the background against the city.  This photo shoot was done at The Summit Club in Birmingham, 33 stories above the city and has the most spectacular views.

Adding another special touch to an already elegant look from a mahagony chiavari chair are these purple sashes tied on the back.  This gives another splash of color and elegance to our tablescape

A simple bouquet of soft purple roses

Changing to a much more formal look to the tablescape by using a more elaborate table linen, Annie Glass as our charger plate under fine china from Bromberg's and using bolder pieces in our centerpiece.  Individual silver butter dish and crystal salt and pepper shakers add a little extra touch of formality to make a guest feel special

Another look at our formal tablescape with taller vases and vessels of puples and greens mixed with silver and crystal

This photo shoot was featured in Souther Bride Magazine 2011 issue and was so much fun to do,  thanks to a great team of wedding professionals including Jan O'Donnel of Cakes by Jan, Bromberg's, J Ross Railey, and of course my very special friends in the wedding business who are always such a pleasure to work with, Kelli and Daniel Taylor of Daniel Taylor Photography.  Kelli and Daniel took all of these gorgeous images and also were the fabulous photography team who did my headshots which was a very difficult task since taking pictures of myself is probably one of the least favorite things I like to do.  They actually made the experience very much worth it;  and I thank them from the bottom of my heart. :-)
